Cheung Sha Wan Hotel

A consortium has applied for the rezoning of 452 Castle Peak Road, Cheung Sha Wan, as a hotel. The Planning Department objected to the idea that the site was a residential project nearby and the plan was not in line with the surrounding planning intentions. The application will be reviewed by the Town Planning Board on Friday.

The above project is currently zoned for residential use in Class A. It is proposed to be converted into an 11-storey hotel with 40 rooms. The Planning Department pointed out that there is a shortage of housing supply. The development of residential buildings is mainly around the construction site. The intention to build hotels is incongruous with the planning intention. The land should be reserved for residential use and it is estimated that there is little chance of approval.
