The Metropolis Plaza has spent $400 million to optimize the project. It was fully completed in November last year. The amount of investment in urban farms officially opened on the 1st of next month was 20 million yuan, accounting for about 5% of the optimization project cost. Chen Jieyi, Assistant General Manager of New Land Leasing Department (Promotion), pointed out that the mall invested RMB 5 million as an opening promotion fee for urban farms. It is expected that after the opening of the farm, young people and office workers who pay attention to green life will be attracted to the shopping malls. The flow of people and turnover have led to double-digit growth.
Li Dexing said that he is optimistic about the retail prospects because the stock market is booming and the unemployment rate is low. He believes that Hong Kong people have high spending power. He predicted that the flow of people at the mall during the Golden Week could increase by 15% to 20%.
