Fanling High Court 32 hectares starting from 5 years later

The Government has agreed to partially recover 32 hectares of land in the Fanling Golf Course and focus on the construction of public housing. It is estimated that it will mature in 2024 and will be completed by 2029. The existing contract of the stadium will expire in August next year, and the authorities are preparing to set up a three-year transitional arrangement for the 32 hectares of land and then withdraw it.

As for the unplanned changes in the use of the remaining 140 hectares of land at the stadium, the Government will renew the symbolic land price until June 30, 2027 based on the results of the private playground contract review.

The remaining 140 hectares will be renewed until 2027

The external consultants of the Government have made a rough assessment. If the development of 32 hectares of high grounds is expected, it is expected that 4,600 residential units will be built in the short and medium term. The Secretary for Development, Mr Wong Wai-lun, said that the consultant’s report is estimated by the private sector. Since the private car roads and related land use are small, it is not excluded that the unit supply can be increased. The Administration will conduct a study in the second half of the year to establish the maximum number of flats and the required infrastructure in the short and medium term. It is expected to be completed in early 2021 or before the first quarter. In addition to the subsequent urban planning work, it is believed that the estate will be matured in 2024. After 4 to 5 years, there will be a residential building.

Mr Wong pointed out that the short-term and medium-term land shortage and sports development needs have been comprehensively considered. Partial recovery is not an easy decision. The Home Affairs Bureau’s consultancy report agrees that the Fanling High Court has contributed a lot to the development of Hong Kong’s golf. It is more open to the public than the Administration has requested. High, the government makes a decision after considering it as a whole.

The Civil Affairs Bureau announced the results of the review of the private playground contract. It stated that in terms of sports policy, it should be renewed for the high court land. The Administration received 380 comments, of which 340 (89%) strongly urged the full retention of the Fanling High Stadium, which is considered to be indispensable for promoting the development of golf.

The Chairman of the Land Supply Task Force, Mr Wong Wai-fai, said that the public is not one-sidedly supporting the recovery of high-street building. There is a 60% opinion on the quantification. There are many views on the priority of using land that can be used first. It will not be renewed for the stadium next year. Take back development.

Golf League is blaming the wrong situation

The Public Housing Association was disappointed that it had not fully recovered the golf course and urged the Government to collect the remaining 140 hectares of land for housing construction.

The Hong Kong Golf League has criticized the situation of the misappropriation of the land supply group and the insufficiency of the grounds for the construction of the high courts. The Hong Kong Golf Club criticized the decision to ignore the importance of the stadium to the development of sports.
