Development Bureau: the future demand for residential land grim

The Government has no mention of how to open up the land. It only means that the Land Supply Task Force is responsible for inspecting the land supply. The Secretary for Development, Mr Wong Wai-lun, admitted yesterday that there was an urgent need for land in the future. The land use situation was particularly severe. The Government said that although the Government had found 210 lots of land which could be re-used for use, it provided 310,000 flats, of which 70% were public housing , But there are 46,000 new units available for public and private housing each year. The existing land can only be adapted to the housing needs of the next six to seven years.

Said the farmland at this stage should not be speculated

Some members of the Tuen Mun District will have an additional burden of more than 30,000 people after questioning the conversion of land. There will also be a heavy burden for traffic in the area. Members have also expressed concern that the greening area should be changed to public housing and affect the landscape.
