The centuries-old store, Lianxiang Building, stopped at Sheung Wan for 22 years.

Lianxianglou is a traditional old-style teahouse with a history of 100 years. It was originally opened in Guangzhou in 1889. It was praised by Chen Ruyue, a scholar of Hanlin at that time, and was named “Lianxianglou”.

Later, Lin Xianglou opened a branch in Hong Kong in 1918. The first store opened in Queen’s Road Central, Central.

Lianxiang Building moved to the existing site of Zeng Zhaoyu Building in Sheung Wan in 1996. It rented its ground floor and 1st floor unit and involved about 5,300 square feet. It was used for sale of cakes on the ground floor and a restaurant on the first floor.

Lianxianglou still retains the traditional teahouse style, has many nostalgic snacks, and uses hand-pushing snack cars. It has retained the decoration of the 70s and 80s for many years.

At the same time, Lianxiang House is one of the earliest existing restaurants offering cut-free barbecued rice, attracting many neighbours and celebrities. Lianxiangju in Shanghuan District is its sister shop.
