The Government of the Public Rental Housing Authority on the MTR Corporation Depot is inconclusive

In recent days, the market has rumors that the government has asked the MTR Corporation (00066) to study the use of railway stations to cover public housing developments, including the covers of the Siu Ho Wan depot on Lantau Island and a piece of land near the Tuen Mun Town Centre. The Secretary for Development, Mr Wong Wai-lun, pointed out yesterday that after attending an event, Siu Ho Wan One proposal for depot development has already been considered by the TPB. As to whether or not some units will be used for public housing development, the government will remain open. As for the use of the Tuen Mun site, Huang Weilun said that the discussion was not mature and did not comment on outside speculation. He stressed that it would cooperate with the Transport and Housing Bureau to increase land construction, especially public housing.
