The Seafarers’ Club Reconstruction Project, known as the Seafarers’ House, was awarded by the Imperial Group in 2018 with a total investment of 6 billion yuan and will be operated by the InterContinental Hotels’ Kimpton brand.

Yao Zhiwei also said that he is positive about Hong Kong’s tourism industry. He believes that Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and high-speed rail have successfully brought people to Hong Kong. The Empire Group currently has two hotel projects. In addition to the Seafarers’ Club project, the Wulidu Ocean Park Hotel in Wong Chuk Hang will also open in 2022, offering 450 rooms.
