Revitalization of Yonghe Tang Building in Central Open more floors

The URA approved the site A of the Peel Street Project in Central last year, including the pre-nursing Yonghe grocery store Tanglou. The bureau said it is studying the activation program to open more floors to the public and requires developers to use pre-drilled piling to reduce the impact on surrounding buildings.

Research can be close to the appreciation of historic buildings

Wei Zhicheng, the administrative director of the URA, had a fire in the early days of the blog, and the nearby first-class historic building “Yonghe” was unaffected. This year, the conservation building consultant has made a preliminary assessment of the Yonghe Tang Building, which has a history of over 100 years. Although the building is not immediately dangerous, the building has become seriously old.

At the end of last year, when signing the Cooperative Development Agreement with the project’s co-developers, the URA has already stipulated the requirements for developers to engage the conservation building consultants to make detailed assessments and formulate specific conservation and revitalization plans. Originally, after the activation of Yonghe Tanglou, only the underground was transformed into a ground floor. Recently, the URA met with developers and conservation consultants to discuss the deepening of Yonghe Tanglou as a historical building that can be fully enjoyed by the public, including strengthening the foundation and the upper cover. The structure allows the public not only to enjoy the floor plan of the Tang House, but also to admire the architectural features on the first and second floors.

At the same time, before the foundation project, the developer first carried out a protective grouting project around the Yonghe Tanglou and used the more expensive reinforced concrete friction drill pile foundation to reduce the vibration caused by surrounding buildings including Yonghe Tanglou.
