Yuner Lu: The Avenue of Stars extended to restart in March next year

The Starfield Boulevard in Tsim Sha Tsui, which was closed for maintenance and refurbishment since October 2015, was reopened in the third quarter of this year. However, the latest documents submitted by the LCSD to the Yau Tsim Mong District Council indicated that the scope of the project originally included only general repairs to the piers. After consultation with relevant departments, it was considered that the demolition and reconstruction of all piers involved projects that were more extensive than anticipated and required, and that bad weather affected the progress of the renovation works. The Avenue of Stars would not be open until February or before next year.

The document also stated that the authorities are actively preparing for the reopening of the Avenue of Stars and hope that the development of the Avenue of Stars will become a platform for showing the glorious history of Hong Kong films and local cultural creativity. In addition to the Starlight Elements, the Avenue of Stars will also set up refreshment kiosks and mobile vehicles to promote local cultural and creative industries, provide a platform for local brands to promote international visitors, and will select operators through fair and open tenders. Including product ideas, financial status and business plan programs.
