Rare 14-person Room Aohua Share Hotel Enters Central

The sharing economy is popular and even boutique hotels have joined the ranks. Ovolo Aohua Hotel Group established a new brand, Mojo Nomad. The first hotel opened in Aberdeen at the end of last year. It provides a shared room for three or eight people, as well as a series of shared facilities such as a kitchen and a small theater. The hotel also has a rare 14-person special room in Hong Kong, suitable for a large group of friends to party. Group Chief Operating Officer Tim Alpe pointed out that currently the hotel occupancy rate averages 70%, and the results are satisfactory. They have already prepared a second Mojo Nomad in Central.

Ovolo, which has always been positioned as a boutique hotel, set up a brand new hotel brand Mojo Nomad last year to renovate its original hotel in Aberdeen, making it the first Mojo Nomad in Hong Kong and opened at the end of December last year. The first Mojo Nomad site in Aberdeen was explained by Tim Alpe. Ovolo has two hotels in the Southern District, located in Wong Chuk Hang and Aberdeen. “But the latter is not as convenient as the former and it is not as good as targeting the same customers. A major feature of Mojo Nomad is the concept of shared space. The ratio of private and shared rooms in the hotel is about 4-6. The shared room type offers accommodation options for 3 or 8 people. Alpe pointed out that the concept of sharing is becoming more and more popular. “Like co-working space, people are not concerned about how good the desks are, how clean the toilets are, but with people sharing facilities. Hosting events for guests to exchange

In order to provide more opportunities for guests to exchange, Mojo Nomad regularly organizes different activities for them to participate in, including painting classes, movie nights, concerts, etc., “We recently held a potluck dinner, more than a dozen The guests shared their own homemade food and it was fun to get salads, meatballs, spaghetti, etc.” Alpe also believes that travelers expect to experience a unique aspect of Hong Kong, so the hotel regularly organizes hikes and walks with the guests to the top of the mountain. It is not always easy for a family to travel abroad. It is not always easy to book a larger room. Mojo Nomad has a special five-person suite overlooking the sea view of Aberdeen Pier. “Generally the hotel offers only two double beds, while the five-person room will not allow them to book extra. Room troubles, not to mention the fact that there is no room between the hotel and the sea.” But to find the most roomless rooms, Alpe laughed at the fact that non-fourteen-room units were the exception and there were extra-large terraces outside the room. I believe it is one of the few places in Hong Kong that can meet the needs of such travelers. The hotel, “There was a row of eight families and about thirty people. We reserved 14 rooms and two eight-person rooms. We have this flexibility.”

Alpe stated that Mojo Nomad’s target customers are mainly passengers who are aiming at leisure activities. “Their travel expenses are made out of their pockets and they are spending more prudently, hoping to use reasonable prices in exchange for better quality of service.” Southeast Asian tourists are the mainstays. “They may have come to Hong Kong several times. They do not need to go to Tsim Sha Tsui and other tourist destinations. They don’t mind staying a little farther.”

New store in Central opens in August

In addition to visitors to Hong Kong, Mojo Nomad also offers a three to nine-month lease option for the short-term rental market to attract foreign students and foreigners to stay in Hong Kong. Alpe pointed out that the hotel has contacted several student accommodation agencies to recruit international students to rent a room. However, the opening of the hotel is close to the end of the semester and the number of students staying is small. He believes that when the new semester comes, the number of students will increase significantly.
